SCCA lines up star speakers for April legal congress
The Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA) has lined up a stellar group of speakers for its two-day significant in-house corporate counsel event, the APAC Legal Congress 2024, from 23-24 April at the One Farrer Hotel.
In its second year, the congress, with backing from the city-state’s Ministry of Law, will convene legal experts from across the Asia-Pacific region to dissect the latest developments under the theme “adapting to the legal evolution in a rapidly changing world”.
Guest of honour K Shanmugam SC, Singapore’s minister for law and home affairs, will launch the congress with the inaugural address. Following his speech SCCA co-presidents, Renita Sophia Crasta and Daniel Choo, will deliver their welcome messages.
The stellar lineup of speakers features thought leaders, including Pujarini Maulik, senior vice president of legal at InMobi; Adam Emilianou, head of corporate services and general counsel at Eastern Pacific Shipping; Gladys Chun, general counsel of Lazada Group; and Mayen Ekong, general counsel at Gurin Energy.
Attendees can expect insights from the region’s leading legal minds in keynote speeches, panel discussions and networking opportunities. The congress also provides a platform for participants to learn more about current legal strategies, broaden professional connections and explore new business horizons.
The 2024 congress theme underscores the need for the legal profession to swiftly adapt to the societal, technological and global transformations challenging traditional paradigms of the law. Attendees are also invited to explore how the law responds to the demands of a rapidly evolving global environment with inherent complexities and opportunities.
This year’s legal congress sees previous and new sponsors supporting the event. Platinum sponsor EY, together with gold sponsors Allen & Gledhill, Axiom, and Kim & Chang are building on the success of last year’s congress. Silver sponsors Rajah and Tann and new entrant WongPartnership, are also supporting the event.
Bryan Yeo, executive director at the SCCA, is excited.: “We are thrilled to bring legal experts from across the Asia-Pacific region for this year’s APAC Legal Congress. Our goal is to provide a platform for legal professionals to exchange ideas, share knowledge and learn from each other’s experiences, ultimately contributing to the growth and success of the industry.”
The APAC congress welcomes all local and regional legal experts, including lawyers, in-house counsel, legal operations professionals, and other industry leaders.
