SCCA's Office Opening Reception

SCCA is proud to have celebrated its Maxwell Chambers office opening on 3 February 2023 with its move from its previous office location at Riverside Point. The association now proudly sits alongside other prestigious organisations such as The Law Society of Singapore, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Singapore Mediation Centre, and other key local institutions.

The momentous occasion was graced by Attorney General and SCCA Patron Mr. Lucien Wong and was attended by various representatives across Singapore’s legal fraternity including representatives from the Ministry of Law, other legal institutions, academic institutions, past and present Board members, and other esteemed guests.

As the AG commented in his opening speech, ‘’The situating of SCCA at Maxwell Chambers Suites, with the support of the Ministry of Law, Singapore, signifies the important regard for SCCA in the legal ecosystem and the recognition of in-house counsels as an integral part of the legal fraternity. The move indeed marks a milestone for SCCA as it is now closer to the other legal institutions.’’

SCCA Co-Presidents, Daniel Choo, and Renita Sophia Crasta also shared that ‘’Going forward, SCCA plans to bring more value to its members. For this year, SCCA will add 2 new flagship events to its calendar namely, (1) the APAC Legal Congress which will take place in May to bring the latest corporate legal developments to our counsels and their regional teams, and (2) the Corporate Counsel Summit, which will be held in conjunction with the Singapore Convention Week in August, to bring the latest dispute resolution focused developments to all our counsels too.

These conferences will no doubt bring value and excitement to the regional and local in-house community. Counsels can also look forward to continued networking, pro bono opportunities as well as continued consultations and linked initiatives with the rest of the wider legal community.”
